I’m a Blessed man. Before God graciously saved me, He gave me my wife and children. I look back and sometimes think about where Paul says in Romans 2:4, “do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”
God was patient with me and opened my eyes to the truth of the Gospel. His kindness was and is still to this day very evident to me.
I couldn’t imagine my life without my family surrounding me. My children are a very intricate part of my world.
That’s why it astounds me to see people abuse, mistreat and sadly murder their own child. It seems like an endless stream of violence against children that permeates the news. There is shock in our conversations of how someone could be so cold as to do that to a defenseless child. There is mourning in innocence lost. You can hear a massive cry for justice coming from the public.
“What a wicked act!”
“I hope they catch who ever did this!” “They should get the death penalty for such a crime! ”
The seeking for justice is right, justice is good.
But we in our fallen condition our need for justice becomes demanding. So demanding is our need for justice-that in the past angry mobs would rise, capture who they knew to be the culprit and hang them. In some cases innocent lives were taken in the deluge of madness that ensued the crowd. Because the mere thought of a murderer escaping apprehension is deplorable to a society. People are outraged when all confidence is lost in the Justice System. In some cases, where the courts failed, families found justice by unjust means. Seeing that the perpetrator and punishment meet in another wicked act.
The Bible confirms that murder is a sin, punishable by death: A life for a life, those who live by the sword die by the sword.
Nevertheless, we ourselves can sin in response to the sin of murder.
1 Peter 3:9 “Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.”
Or, Romans 12:19 “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Vengeance is not the answer and God forbids it. We take matters of justice in our own hands we are showing lack of confidence in the promises of God. We go through the legal means in which God has established over our nation. (Romans13:1-7)
I’m saying all of that assuming the person reading this post is a clear thinking Christian that is avidly a pro-life supporter.
That is why I can’t understand these people that call themselves a Christian and bomb Abortion Clinic’s and brutally murder abortion doctors. Which according to God’s word doesn’t really show the fruit’s of the spirit found in Galatians chapter 5. “Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
Not to say that only Christians are pro-life. I know this because, before I was saved the subject of abortion for my wife and I, had never been an option. But with the media promoting the normalcy of the “procedure”. My mind was stretched with all sorts of dilemma’s including rape or incest. Perhaps the mother’s life is at risk or the baby could have some terrible handicap-on and on. I could have been persuaded to pro-choice very easily. God wasn’t my source of good moral choices.
I was tossed to and fro in my convictions and ethics.
It’s a baby…
It’s a fetus or a blob of tissue…
The baby is fully aware….
It has no clue of its surroundings…
I felt as if my convictions were seated on loose sand. Why was I pro choice?
Where to begin?
Well, lets begin with what is in the womb?
I have been presented with all sorts medical facts that proves that what’s in the womb is a child.
18 days – heart begins to beat.
42 days – brain waves recorded, skeleton complete, reflexes present.
18 weeks – vocal cords work – can cry.
9 weeks – squints, swallows, moves tongue, makes fist.
11 weeks – spontaneous breathing movements, has fingernails, all body systems working. (click)
That sounds like a child to me.
The bible, Gods word, even says that it’s a child. The goes on to say that God knew our name even before we were born.
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. ”
Mary was visiting her cousin Elizabeth in Luke 1:41-44 while pregnant with John the Baptist at that time. The child in her womb leaped with joy when she heard Mary the mother of Jesus greet everyone.
There is even more references in the Bible that says the unborn is human.
I’m left with no choice, abortion is the murder of a child. Legalized murder!
So now I ask you. Where is the publics massive cry for justice!?
Very few are shouting, “What a wicked act!”
And the people who do raise their voices saying abortion is murder are looked on as insensitive monsters. Why you ask? Because a woman who was raped by her father would have to be reminded of the horrific moment in her life every time she looked at the baby. The child would suffer because the mother needed to finish school or couldn’t afford to care for the child. The list is endless with grave scenario’s.
All of a sudden everything is flipped on its head. They recognize whats in the womb as a child, but purposely hide the child under their wants, desires or sadly pain. None of which constitutes the death of a child. Their reasoning seems much like the tea party of the mad hatter in Alice in Wonderland. It makes no sense whatsoever!
What of the brutal murder of the defenseless child in the mothers womb!? The safest place in the world for the unborn child has become a graveyard.
Ray Comfort put a video out called 180 movie.
( www.180movie.com) In the video Ray brought an amazing comparison to the abortion with the horrors of WW2 Nazi Jewish genocide. From the Nazi perspective it was the elimination of the undesirable and the weak. The people that they murdered were not seen as human to them. They were no more than a blob of tissue.
The comparison in so uncanny it’s unreal. The devaluing of life is a part of the fall. The hallmark of our sin nature. To love ones self more than, GOD.
Genesis 1:27 is the creation of mankind. That man was created in the image of God. Image meaning a image barer or a representative of God. That we are made to manifest His glory.
But in chapter 3 of Genesis we sinned against God and we see the effects of it to this day.
I bring this up to inform you as I was informed. That God values life. He has created all life and to take life is a direct assault to God. That’s why God established laws to govern over His people. Exodus 21:12,14; Numbers 35:16-21, 30-33; Leviticus 24:17″Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.”
Then God also said in Revelation 22:15 “Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”
God sees murder as so serious that he will punish all murders. The offense is directed, whether they believe it or not, at the creator.
If we, as Christians, are specifically made to manifest Gods glory. 2 Corinthians 6:16
The practice of abortion should be abhorrent to we who are believers. The purpose of a Christian is Glorify God and bring Him Glory.
We should not only be pro-life but love the Creator so much that the protection of life, especially the weak and defenseless in the womb, as an act of highest offense to God. It is an act of an unbeliever.
But even that can be forgiven by God. He saves all who come to Him.
Liars, thieves, fornicators and yes even murders can be forgiven by God and him alone.
Because God has provided away to forgive His creation of their offences to Him. Through the person and work of his son Jesus Christ. By dying on a cross for our sins. Where we should rightfully be paying the full measure of our debt. Which is eternity in Hell. ALL PAY in full on the cross. No longer a murder but a child of God. This news should humble you. This lovingkindness speaks volumes, Romans 2:4, “do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”
Turn to Him, trust in Him and He will save you.
